This year our coach ramble will be to Cromer, Gem of the North Norfolk Coast . There is a long walk of 10 miles and a short walk of 6 miles both finishing in Cromer. The date will be Thursday 23rd May 2024, a packed lunch will be required.
We will leave the football stadium at 9am on a Kings Coach. The coach will drop off the long walkers to the South of Cromer on the A140, to ramble through the rolling Norfolk countryside via Felbrigg Hall to finish the Ramble in Cromer by 3pm giving us time to sample some of the local ale and quench our thirst.
The short walkers will be dropped off to the South of Sheringham on the A148 where they will head to the coast and finish their walk in Cromer. There will be space on the coach for anybody who just fancies a day on the coast of Norfolk and a fresh crab salad for lunch.
There is, of course, the chance to ride on the heritage Poppy Railway to Holt and return.
A fish and chip supper has been booked in a restaurant in Cromer near the pier for 5pm, we will have to preorder our meals. Gluten free fish and chips are available. The restaurant has asked that we pay £5pp deposit for meals.
Back on the coach to arrive in Colchester at approx. 8pm.
All those wishing to Ramble in Cromer are asked to book and pay for their seats by 25th February 2024. Cost will be £27.50 which includes £5 deposit for the restaurant.
Dependent on uptake by Colchester Ramblers, empty seats will be offered to Tendring group from 25th February.

As the Friday evening walking season is now upon us we thought it would be good to arrange a summer meal after the walk on Friday 13th June.
Full details regarding the walk will be put on the website soon, but please save this date in your busy diaries!!
The walk will be at the earlier time of 5.45 and will be from the Queens Head pub at West Bergholt.
The walk will be shorter than normal to allow us to be back at the pub to sit down for a meal by about 7.15.
We will have exclusive use of the conservatory room at the back of the pub for as long as we wish. If the weather allows we could also go into the garden later.
I do hope you will join us for this event as it’s a chance to have a nice meal and to enjoy each others company.
I would be grateful if you could let me know asap if you wish to attend and I will get a menu sent so you can pre order your meal.

It may be a good idea to bring your own picnic chair to ensure seating.\NParking - please park at the very top end of the Barn plant and garden Centre car park. Turkey Cock Lane.
